Heffy Doodle-Let’s Hang out

Hi Friends, I got inspired after the new release from Picket Fence to make a Halloween Card. I love doing the different colors for bats other than the dark grays and blacks. A dark purple or even dark blues are so fun to do on the bats.

Starting off stamping the bats and spiders from Let’s Hang out on X-press it paper with Lawn Fawn Jet Black. Tomorrow’s card is with the spiders. I knew right away I wanted to also make a spider-Halloween themed card, hence doing the spiders also!

Copics

Bat-BV29, BV08,BV04, BV02

Tree branch- E27, E25, E23

Background, using Bristol Smooth, larger than 4 1/4 X 5 1/5 paper. My plan was to make a moon light sky, so of course I had to pull out the Moon Mask from Tim Holtz! Using the solid moon, taped down in the center. Not knowing exactly where I wanted the scene to go. With the larger Bristol, I was able to move around my MFT A-2 Stitched Rectangle Stax Die-Namics to the best placement for the scene. Inking up around the moon with Distress Oxides, Shaded Lilac, Seedless Preserve, and Villainous Potion. Going from lightest to dark and back to the lightest. Once there was a smooth blend, add to the edge Black Soot. I went back over with the purples to bring in the colors closer to the moon. I placed the die over it to see if I was in far enough for the Moon Lit scene. Once the blend was good, removed the moon. Using an adhesive eraser from where the moon was taped down. Using DO Bundled Sage to give the moon a little color. Tap off some of the ink from the brush to make it less intense. Then I place the mask with the craters over and used Pumice Stone. Letting it dry before adding the spider web. I did do some water splatter on it, as well as Spellbinders Sparkle Silk.

The Tree is from Heffy Doodle Elm Street. Cut it out of Black Card stock from Stash. As well as the spider, cutting off the silk from it. I knew I wanted the white embossing instead. Laying everything out, cutting the background. First check to make sure your ink blend background it dry. You can simple pour the powder over, if it sticks then you’ll need to use a heat tool to dry it completely. Add Anti-static first, the Versa Mark stamp the web in the corner, heat embossed using WOW Opaque Bright White Super Fine. Hand stamped the one small line for the silk to be hang down for the small black spider to be next to the Bat. The tree was laid in place and then the web over. I stamped out in white pigment ink. I think I need to reink the pad! Removed the tree and then added the anti-static powder. Stamped the web down onto the background with the white pigment again(same place), heat embossed the Wow Opaque White over it. Once the web was cooled down, made the sentiment connect to the one silk. Seeing it now I should have found a small spider to add dangling from the word friend in the sentiment. That would have been so cute. Got the solid bat and stamped over the moon with VeraFine Onyx Black. There again should have used some Black embossing powder over the bat for some shine!

Okay, let’s put it all together! The tree has to be in the correct spot for the web to line up right. Glued it down with Bearly Arts liquid glue. The branch and the bat were laid in place and seeing where the small black spider need to be. Glued the small spider down. Added foam adhesive to the back of the bats and the branch, and placed them in their spots. Still needed a little something else! Stars and twinkle, from my stash. Adding in random areas, gluing down with Bearly Arts Glue. Mounting the scene onto black cardstock that was cut from the MFT Stax 1. the largest still giving it a small white frame.

Thanks for stopping by!
