Hanging Ornaments and Birdhouse

Hi friends, sharing one of my favorite Christmas cards so far to date! I really love this time of year to add all the snowy splatter!

This was influenced by the Color Cube, #180 Teal, Seafoam, Scarlet Red, Burgundy, and White Smoke.

With this being a 5X7 card, I had to be creative with the Layered Winter Wreath Stencil. With the Layer A to the bottom of the panel of Fog cardstock on a grip mat. I masked off a couple of the leaves that weren’t complete. Then with SSS Tidepool and Kale ink over the leaves. Clean off and then place Layer B, was with Cranberry ink. With the last layer, Cabernet ink. I ended up with some red berries and no branch, so I slide up the stencil to match up a branch to the berries and inked up with the Cabernet ink. Next go back to Layer A to fill it in with the leaves and branches. You will have to mask parts off the be clean and no overlays.

Once it was all full I went carefully around the edges with Tidepool first and then slightly with Kale ink. Then in a splat box go to town with Dr. Ph Martin’s white splatter!

Next I pulled out Winter Foliage Die Set, with the Holly Leaves, Berries, Berry Stem, branches and Flowers. When the Holly and Berries were adhered together, foam squares were attached to the back.

Card Stock Paper used:

MFT – Red Hot

Papertrey Ink – Scarlet Red

Concord & 9th – Rainforest and Tidepool

Lawn Fawn – Fog

Knowing for the center of the stencil Wreath I wanted the Decorative Birdhouse Die and the Holiday Birds Die. Attaching the Birdhouse directly to the stenciled panel. The Winter bird was adhered and then 3D foam squares to the back of it.

Then with the Build an Ornaments Dies, I kept the colors minimal. The toppers were from a metallic Silver and I had them hanging from silver thread. Attach them with 3D Foam squares and wrap the thread up and over the panel. Tape the thread to the back of the panel.

The Winter Script Die cut out three times and stack up with liquid glue for dimensions. I did partial stamping the Greetings from Sentiment Strips: Christmas. Then die cut the “Greetings” with Sentiment Strips Die. I felt like there was a big space on the right by the birdhouse. So a last minute decision was to add a couple of small bows from Beautiful Bow Dies. To finish the bow centers I attached Metallic Silver Pearls.

Thanks for stopping by and stay crafty my friends!
