Hi friends, today I am sharing the new Simon Hurley Sky’s the Limit Collection, Fly a Kite Die set from the April release over at Spellbinders. These kites are fun and really easy to make, and so many possibilities of color combinations.
So I started off die cutting them all out with the primary red, yellow, blue and greens. Adhered them together on the white bases.
For the first card I made a panel with the Tunnel Clouds Die Set. Then for the underneath I just did a light ink blend with my blue brush. I decided for the tunnel of the clouds to take the remaining ink on the brush and go lightly around the edge of the clouds. From the set I die cut out some white clouds.
With the Soaring Sentiments set from the collection, I foiled with black foil. And then die cut it out with the Coordinating Dies.
Adhering it all together with the kites popped up with foam squares. And adding some gems to match in the middle of the bows on the strings.
Card #2
I started off with a light blue card stock and ran it through with the Flying Kites Embossing Folder. Trimmed it down by an 1/4 inch so I could mat it with the blue I used with the kites.
Then with the kites I had already made I popped them up with foam squares onto the panel. Along with the sentiment from the Soaring Sentiments set. Added the gems to the center of the bows.
I figured if I was already making one card with the kites why not do a second one. This is actually a good one for mass production.
