Hi Friends, today I’m sharing a birthday card using the Craft-a-Flower Prairie Roses by Altenew. I made this for a special friend of mine, Michelle. I can share it since she has received it last weekend. Also I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge that is hosted by another friend of mine, Sam.

I started off by die cutting out the pedals and leaves, then I ink blended on Mandarin Burst and Warm Sunshine Fresh Dye ink by Altenew for the pedals. Then for the leaves I did a two tone, using Bamboo, Olive, Moss and Hazelnut ink. It almost gave them an aged appearance, it will be a great combination for fall.
I die cut out Matte Gold for the centers, and the Bamboo and Olive and the very top centers.

Then one a standard A2 panel I ink blended from one corner to the middle using Pastel Sunrise and Hazelnut inks. Leaving a good portion of the panel white. I was heavy handed in the corner to lighter in the middle.
Next, in a splatter box with the panel and all the die cuts I splatters on gold. Then leaves and the panel I splattered on the Hazel Nut ink watered down.
After they were dry I did a little curving of the leaves and pedals by wrapping them around my pokey tool. Then with liquid adhesive I attached them by using the key hole method to line up. There is also a guide that comes with the dies.

Then I used a frame die from Simon Says, and die cut out from the middle of the panel. Also from the same Matte Gold to inlay.
Before I started to lay out my design with the flowers, I needed a sentiment. With the Versatile Greetings 2 die set, I die cut the shadow from black and the top Happy from the Gold card stock.
For the birthday I need it to be smaller, so with the Craft Your Life- Wings & Pedal stamp set I stamped and Gold heat embossed the birthday. Popping both the Happy and birthday up with foam squares.
I placed the sentiment where I thought that I would like it to be. Then I started to arranged the flowers and leaves around the sentiment. I adhered the leaves directly to the panel with liquid glue but not on the whole back of the stem and leave. Only adding glue to the very bottom of the stem tucked under the flower. This way it allows the leaves to have movement.
Now that I have the flowers and leaves all attached I removed the backing of the foam squares and attached the sentiment. Also I ruffled the gold centers, by lifting a few of the stamens.
I thought about adding some gold pearls but I figured this was enough. Especially since Michelle is a Clean and simple cardmaker!
