Hi friends, I’m on a water theme kick these days! When I say this cute Hippo from the Safari Animals Clear Stamp set, I knew I wanted to play with him.
I started off stamping him out on copic friendly paper. Then on masking paper stamped him out again. With good scissors I cut the mask out and laid it over the hippos.
Before I ink blended over for the water, I grabbed the Mermaid Paper Pack. Found the wavy water pattern look. Trimmed it out with the Honey Comb Die Set. Using the outer die that is just a stitch rectangle.
On the inside I used the Wavy Nested Frames Die, die cutting out the center with the second to largest die. Then with one size smaller I die cut it out of white. Doesn’t matter exactly where, because you can line up and trim over the extra that comes from under the pattern paper.
When I went to finally ink blend the panel, I used too blue of ink. So then I went over with SSS Pawsitively ink-Tropic which was a way better match.
Copic colors:
B91, B93, B95
N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, R20
Bubbles: OLO BG2.4
The water was looking very plain, so with Grassy Frames and Jungle Frames dies. I die cut out the foliage and pink flowers. Stampin’ Up – Bubble Bath and Papertrey Ink- Tropical Teal
I stamped out the sentiment from the set and with the Quick Strips die cut it out. Adding foam square to one side.
