Coral Charm Peony

Hi Crafty friends, so my lovely daughter asked me to make a retirement card for a co-worker at her hospital. She already knew that I would want to know more about the lady and her likes. She likes flowers and gardening, so I knew right away I wanted Altenew flowers and to do their challenge this month!

Also there is the Black Friday Sales going on at Altenew that I wanted to let you know about!

I started off with the Coral Charm Peony Dies, die-cutting them out of white Neenah #80 card stock and ink blending on with Altenew Fresh Dye inks. Adhering the flower together with liquid glue.

Next, I grabbed a standard A2 panel of Neenah and ink blended in one are to where the flower will be attached. I then ran the panel through with the Woven Basket 3D embossing folder.

Then with the darker ink I splattered on the panel. I wanted a little shimmer as well, so with the panel, flower and the leaves in my splatter box I used Spellbinders-Sparkle Silk. Set to the side to dry.

I then went searching for a Happy retirement sentiment, and that was no easy task! So with the Versatile Greetings 2 Die set, I die-cut out the “Happy” once from Glossy Black card stock and three more times from black. Stacked them up with liquid glue for dimension.

Then with the “retirement” I found that Spellbinders has Happy Retirement with the Ideal Moments BetterPress Plate. I pressed it out with black ink and then with the residual ink on my pink brush went over the sentiment and trimmed off the Happy. Adding foam squares to the back to pop it up.

As I started to lay out my design, I felt that it needed more. So with the Mix Foliage Layering Die Set, I found two dies in both directions and die-cut from Pixie Dust Glitter card stock from Lawn Fawn..

Adhering it all together and the finally touch I added some Pink Pearls from Trinity Stamps.
