Hi crafty friends, how perfect is the Candy Cane stripes for a background at Christmas time?!
I knew that I was going to use the Santa and Friends Stamp Set from Whimsy Stamps. With this Santa holding the Candy Cane I was too perfect for the Brushed Stripes Background Rubber Stamp.
I started off with a standard A2 white panel and put in the Misti with the Brushed Stripes stamp. I used Lawn Fawn Lobster Red ink and stamped it out.
Next with the Mix and Match Marquee Die, with the stitched die in the center I cut out the window. Then with a smaller straight cut on a black card stock, I die cut out a window into it. Sliding it underneath the pattern panel until it was a perfect alignment. Trimming off the edges that hung out. It’s easier to slide the back panel around than trying to make it match up and be even all around.
I then stamped out the Santa image from the set and copic colored it in, afterwards fuzzy cut it out.
With a standard A2 panel I placed it behind and with the residual ink on my red brush I lightly ink blended in the center. Placing the panel in my Misti I stamped out the sentiment “Happy ho-ho-holidays!” from Santa’s Magic stamp set.
Popping up the image with foam square and attaching it over the center of the white panel.
It still needed more, so from the Santa and Friends Stamp set. I stamped and colored a gift box. Putting a small foam to the bottom right of the box and adhering it over Santa’s boot.
Some final touches were adding the Clay Candy from Pretty Pink Posh. And white highlights with a gel pen and attaching the panel to a standard A2 card base.
