Hi Crafty friends, I brought out the Penguin Mug and Gingerbread Mug from Pretty Pink Posh to play again. I knew when the Winter Release came out that I wanted to pair them up together. It’s not the most Christmas kind of card, but it will make someone smile for sure!
I started off by die-cuttting out the mugs and using some Doodlebug pattern paper for the handles, bow and scarf. On the edges of the bodies I did do a little ink blending for dimension. Next, I adhered the pieces together with liquid glue to make the Penguin Mug and the Gingerbread Mug. I added some cheeks, eyelashes, and Onyx Pearls for the eyes.
Then with the Argyle Pierced Plate, I ran it through with a standard A2 panel. I will trim it down in a curve by drawing a line on the back with a pencil. I used the Scallop Border 2 Dies, and placed the one I wanted on the back of the Pierced panel and drew the line. Then I cut on the line as best as possible. Next with another panel I die-cut out the Scallop Border 2 die, sliding it under the Argyle Pierced panel. Trying to make it look like a table cloth, I slide the panel up to where there could be a little pink showing at the bottom and trimming off the extra on the top. As of right now the Scallop Border 2 dies are out of stock, but you can use any border die you may have in your stash.
I then wanted to add some Winter Foliage, this is where I had problems. I ended up die-cutting it out and arranged it on the bottom basically covering up all of the Scallop Border. I add Cherry Red Pearls for the holly berries and added some red and white glitter card stock for some of the foliage.
Popping the mugs and flowers up with foam squares, gluing the rest directly onto the panel.
I stamped and white heat embossed “Warmest Wishes” from the Sentiment Stripes:Christmas and then with the Sentiment Stripes Dies cut it out.
