Candy Cane Lane

Hi friends, today my IG friends and I are doing the Craftroomers hop over on Instagram. We do this hop every quarter with a theme. The quarter is of course winter or Christmas. It’s a chance to play with our stash.

This is actually my second card that I made. I was so overwhelmed with my stash it took me a moment to warm up I guess. I decide that I would go with mostly Mama Elephant Candy Cane Lane Stamp Set. Who can say no to these adorable mice?

I started off by stamping the whole set plus another two individual candy canes on to OLO Premium Blending paper and Memento Tuxedo black ink.. Afterwards I die-cut them out with their coordinating dies.

This is when I decide to make an interactive card a really old die set the Slim Scenescape Builder die set by Mama Elephant. I can’t believe it that it’s still available over at Mama Elephant! But not at Simon Says Stamp, so I can’t link it. But you may have something in your stash that will work!

Next, I needed some trees to fill the scene in a little bit more. And I found these Snowcapped Tree Dies from Waffleflower Crafts. I had never used them before so this was a great opportunity to!

I dug through my Pattern Paper stash and found this green and red striped paper from Honey Stamps! It worked perfectly!

The every back panel I die cut it out of white card stock then with the Stitched Snowflake Backdrop die I ran it through again to add some interest.

Then I started building the slimline using liquid glue, add two hills into the builder. Adhering the mushroom home, candy canes, mice and trees to the snow hills. I knew I wanted some glitter snow flakes floating. So I grabbed the Snowflake Frame dies from Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Glitter Card stock. Using the two small snowflake, I die-cut out five of them. Attaching them to acetate picks that are about 1/4 thick using liquid glue.

The last thing is the sentiment from the set. I partially stamped out one line and white heat embossed it on the red cardstock. Then I lined up the rest of the sent as best as possible and partially stamped and white heat embossed the remaining sentiment.

I think this turned out really cute!
