Hi friends, the new March release is now available from Spellbinders!
Today, I’m showcasing the Yana’s Tulips Collection. I have two cards to share, the Windmills and Tulips BetterPress Plate, Tulips and Daffodil BetterPress plate and Bouquet of Hugs Sentiments BP.
If you buy the bundle there is a free tulip die as a gift!

Quite honestly I’m so happy with all the BetterPress plates and doing the foiling and not gold heat embossing to where the paper warps!
I started off my hot foiling both of them and the sentiments with gold foil on Hammermill card stock. I did them on black-Raven card stock, Gold foil on white and White foil on black card stock only because I wasn’t sure on which way would look best.
Card #1- Tulips and Daffodil BetterPress plate Bundle with Stencil

Next, I did the stenciling of the Tulips and Daffodils on a grip mat. The stencil line up perfectly! I tried to add the color heavier in the areas I wanted dimension.
Once I was done applying the inks, I removed the stencil and noticed a yellow smudge. So I splattered with yellow ink diluted, it was okay and hid the problem. But, it really didn’t show up much. So then I splattered on some gold and got a little heavy handed. It’s fine still turned out pretty!
Then I die-cut it out with the second largest Essential Arch Dies. And with the largest I die-cut it out of black to frame the panel and I made an arch card base with it.
Adhered it all together, adding some gold pearls and popping up the sentiment.
Card #2- Windmills and Tulips Bundle with Stencil

With this one I ink blended two shades on the tulips using small rounded brushes. I also did some shading on the tulips leaves to make them pop in a field of green!
The stencils on this one is so perfect, they even give you one to add some shading to the clouds but I opted out. The hardest thing was choosing the color for the windmills. I did a blue and I was not happy with it. So I went back over them with a little bit of a teal green blue which covered the blue that was too vibrant. It was perfect.
After the gold had dried I die-cut the panel out with the stitched die from the Nested Postage Dies then die cut out the postage die out of white card stock. And matted it with a matching green blue card stock. Popped on the sentiment using the white with gold foil from the Bouquet of Hugs Sentiments press plate.
