Hot Rod Flames

Hi friends, Mindy Eggen’s Classic Roads Legend 2.0 Collection is now available over at Spellbinders! If you remember there was the first the Classic Collection last June with the Muscle and Classic Cars.

Want it ALL Bundle-Click Here from Spellbinders!

Today, I have the Hot Rod Flames Etched Dies that is part of the collection. I had to go with the Hot Rod car only because I’m a racer for sure. In my 20’s I use to race my car at a Drag Strip! Although I was way into Mopar, I drove a Cuda! I may not have the car but I still do love speed!

Color Block Accent Arches & Essential Arches Bundle (SSS)

I started off by die-cutting out the elements to build my Hot Rod. Using two shades of red, Brushed Black, Matt Silver, and Glossy White card stock. With the Flames and the lights I die-cut them out of white card stock and used my dye inks to color them in.

Next with the Color Block Accent Arches Dies, I die-cut it out of white and black card stock to make it look like a checkered flag! Then with the Essential Arches Dies I used the die to cut a white panel to fit inside the Color Blocks.

Before I attach the Hot Rod onto the arched panel, I stamped out the “ Cruisin’ by to say…” and the “Happy Birthday” with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink from the Crusin’ By Sentiments Stamp & Die Set.

Then I blended on a little Blue in the background, just using the residual ink on my blue brush.

For my card base I used the Essential Arches Dies again with the die that would fit around the entire Color Block Accent Arches panel. With a Standard A2 card base and the straight edge of the die slightly off the edge of the fold of the card base, I ran it through my P6. So I should be cutting only the arches away of the card base.

Attaching the Color Block panel on to the base and then popping up the car with the foam squares to the back.

My final step was add five Mirrored round disks, these are from Trinity Stamps.
