Hi friends, today a group of my friends and myself are having a hop over on Instagram. We do a theme hop every quarter to use our stash. For this quarter we had a choice of camping, beach and other summer fun activities. Well when you have tons of Ocean themed products from Waffle Flower you figure ya better get a die-cutting and use them! I had every intention of using the Inquisitive Seagull that was released a year or so ago. He didn’t make the cut and neither die the inquisitive crab! Next time my friends!

I started off by making my folded card base, I knew it needed to fold out on both side to capture the waves and be able to tuck in everything I wanted. Once I knew two panel would flip out to the right and the last on the left would flip over last to hold them All in.
Before I started to ink and attach the panels, I used a wavy die to die-cut off the top of the three panels. Let’s call them the wings for now. They all had continuing waves from an angle.
With the main panel in the center which is 5x 7 inches, and the Under the Sea Background stencil. I had to get creative on my inking since it doesn’t accommodate for a larger panel. I only added the waves not the fish from the stencil, I knew I was using a lot of die cuts and didn’t want it too busy! Next with my SSS Pawsitively Marine dye ink I went over the other panels but not going all the way to the bottom.
I used Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink for the bottom of the Ocean. Then I splattered away for a nice water effect. And blotted it up with a clean paper towel the water drops.

Next, I die cut out all the elements from white card stock and inked them up. Starting with the Under the Sea die-n-stencil set, once the elements were inked I tried to remember to splatter on them as well.
Once I had the all assembled I started to lay out my design, and keeping in mind when it would fold back up together what would be showing. The only one I’m upset about is Mr. Happy Lobsters antennae show in the front.

If there was any element that went over the top of the wave, it meant I had to die-cut it again. Color the backside of the die cuts and attach it to the back with liquid glue.
As I was getting to the end of adding the fish and other elements I realized I still need my sentiments. So I carefully added on with the help of my Misti.
As I was writing this blog post and doing the Product list. I saw more Ocean themed products I don’t own and thinking I needed them!🤣🤦🏻♀️ Like why don’t I have more seashells OR the seal and Corals! I may have to rectify that soon!

Thanks and have a great week!
