Gingerbread House

Hi crafty friends! It’s Day 3 of the Pretty Pink Posh Instagram Hop with the new Winter Release.

Pretty Pink Posh is giving away to one person on each of the days a $30 gift certificate to the PPP shop. It’s all random, and all you have to do is comment on each of the stops. Your chances are better if you comment on everyone along the hop and all the days.

So make sure to head on over to Instagram and its best if you start with the Pretty Pink Posh Instagram account.

For my card today I’m featuring the Gingerbread House dies, which is out of stock at PPP. They are only at the PPP shop because half of the Winter Release is stuck in Customs Warehouse and has been there for almost 2 months. So if you were one of the fortunate ones that ordered right away and got the Gingerbread House dies and the Christmas Mugs, YAY You!

Because I love all of real estate when I’m making a scene I like to make a 5X7 card. So I started with a panel and in the center did a pink ink blend to go behind the house and went even light to the edges. It almost has a cloudy glowing sky.

Next, I die-cut out all the elements except any snow dies from the sweet Gingerbread House Dies. I adhered everything together with liquid glue. But I didn’t assemblemy card just yet. I needed to splatter white Dr PH Martin on for a snowy effect.

Using the Hills Border Dies out of Pixie Dust Glitter Card stock.

I also die-cut out the snow dies from the Gingerbread House with the Pixie Dust glitter card stock.

I went into my glitter card stock stash and found Red and Pink glitter card stock for the lights on the house.

But for the gumdrops and the mint bulbs on the house, I adhered double sided adhesive sheet first. Then I die-cut them out, peeled out the other side of the protective backing and dipped them into Distress Rock Candy.

I added 3D foam squares to the back of the house, gumdrops, and gingerbread men.

I laid out my scene with the popsicles and the candy canes shaped as a heart. I glued them directly onto the panel along with the snowy hills.

Before I did attach it all to the panel I decided to trim it down by 1/4 inch on all sides to have a white mat and then added them.

Using the Sweet Gingerbread Cookies Stamp set, I stamped and white heat embossed the “Have a Sweet Christmas” sentiment.

My final step was adding Star Dust Stickles to the candy canes, popsicles, and the smoke coming out of the chimney.

I think this card has the most glitter I’ve ever used.

Some of the companies have it set up if you wait after 7 days to finish your order from when you clicked on one of my links. I will no longer make any commission from the sales.
