Autumn in Kyoto

Hi crafty friends, I have just a few cards to share with you today. This is the Autumn Kyoto Collection with Spellbinders and Alex Syberia Designs. They did a collaboration in the spring and I missed out on it. I loved every card I saw made with the spring collection so I didn’t want to miss out again. What’s it called FOMO! (Fear of Missing Out!) 🤣 Yup, that’s me!

For my first card I’m using the Scenic Kyoto BetterPress Plate with the stencil. I will tell you this wasn’t the first time I made the background. I tossed my first one but it does make a comeback with my last card I’ll be showing you. I took it out of the trash! And it is actually my favorite!

Once I hot-foiled the Scenic Kyoto with a Matt Gold foil, I then inked it up with dye inks. I die-cut out the panel using the A2 Matting Basics Rectangle Basics from Spellbinders which than left an ever so slightly white border.

Next, I die-cut out the Autumn Kokeshi Dolls Etched Dies. There are four small stamps in the set to add patterns to the Kimono before you adhere it together.

With the new Say It Inside & Out Stamp & Cut from the Say it with Style over at Hero Arts I stamped and Gold embossed the sentiment.

I went back and forth on the lantern but I figured on more of the roof color would be nice, I did tuck it behind the doll just a bit. I liked it better that way!

When I was making my first card I stamped out these kimonos but didn’t use them. So they were just lying on the desk and I had to use them, too cut not to! And this way I could add the glasses!🤣 so cute!

I saw sentiment from the Say It Inside & Out Stamp & Cut with the Soulmate friends, I knew it was meant to be!

For the background I need to use the Quilted Cover Plate in the Simon Hurley’s Snow Globe Scenes Collection. I thought it would be cute since it was flowers and the patterns on the Kimono was too perfect!

Okay now for my comeback background, my trash card that I love so much. And don’t get me wrong I love them all!

For this one I’m using the Japenese Maple Etched dies and the Scenic Kyoto BetterPress Plate with stencil. Just so you know the Japenese Maple branch and the stencil to the Scenic Kyoto are only available in the bundles.

I used the Arch dies to cut an opening for the Japenese Maple to be coming out from.

I started off with white card stock and cut out the Japenese Maple branch, inking up the leaves with two to three colors. This really gives them the autumn feel. To me it’s like you’re peeking out from the trees to see the beauty of a Japenese garden.

With the XL Sentiments Everyday LetterPress, the sentiment fit perfectly on the bottom of the arch. It goes so perfectly with the Zen vibe going on!
