Hi friends it’s the first of the month and you know what that means! The new My Monthly Super Hero kit from Hero Arts is now available. Packed with all your Christmas needs or wants! This is the Big Santa and he is big, you can cut him out, add him to a gift bag or just use his head and add a sentiment in his beard.
I did make a 5X7 card today with him mostly on it so he can hold the String of Lights.

I started off with the Malibu panel of card stock and the Snow Day Layering stencil. When I applied the Distress Grit Opaque paste, I had the stencil covering over the middle. I always knew I was going to trim it down. But as I looked at it longer there just wasn’t enough snow on the sides of Santa. So before I had him all ready to be attached I went back in after the first layer was dry and added more of the Opaque paste using the stencil on each side. It was actually very easy to do and nothing got messed up.
Once the panel was dry again I trimmed it down by 1/4 inch and attached to a 5X7 card base. Next, I die-cut out Big Santa and added some dimension on the edges of the card stock. Now there are two different kinds of eyes that you can give him. I chose the ones that make him look like he is smiling more. There are some lines on the face to help with the placement, almost looking like crow’s feet. Then I assembled and popped on Big Santa with foam squares on the back. Trimming off his legs and boots, yep I had them on as well with knowing full well they were going to be goners.

Then I die-cut out the String of Lights with white glossy card stock, and pink, white and red glitter card stock for the bulbs. When I glued it down I had the glued on one end of the strings and placed it in his palm. Then I did the other making sure to have it in the right place and not have glue everywhere as I adjusted the string of lights. Then I carefully lifted a bulb here and there and dapped some glue on the back.
From the Christmas Cheer Stamp and Cut set, I stamped and white heat embossed the “HO HO HO” on Raven card stock.
I will say this kit is super fun and makes Christmas card making fast and easy!
