Hi friends, I said that I would be back with another Nessie, the Loch Ness monster and here it is! This is called the Gentle Giant Etched Dies from Hero Arts May release
Nessie was large so I ended up going with a 5 x 7 card here today. So I started off by die-cutting out the waves from a teal card stock and adding shading to them on the top edge to give them depth with a darker dye ink. Next, I die-cut out Nessie from two shades of purple also adding some shading to her. There is lots of different seaweed, fish and rocks for the bottom of the ocean. I knew that I was going to have some of the foliage coming out in between the waves. So I made sure to add thick foam squares to the top layer but at the bottom. The with the middle layer I used some thin foam squares also placed at the bottom. This made it easier to slide the foliage in under a wave.
Because Nessie’s neck looped around the little Boat from the set made the most sense. I just die-cut it out of Black Glossy card stock and White, with matte Silver trim.
Next, I die-cut out the new Cloud Die Set, but when I did it I used the same die. Instead of using one of the others to make the formation of the clouds different. I add a very light shading to the edge of the layer and foam to the back of the top layer.
With a 5×7 panel of Neenah card stock I laid out my design and had Nessie in place so that I could have an idea on where to ink blend on a Yellow sunrise and the rest for the sky.
Next, I stamped and white heat embossed my sentiment from the Unbelievably Awesome Stamp Set and die-cut out with the Coordinating dies.
I started to assemble my card with liquid glue and the foam behind the layers of clouds and the ocean waves. It’s now I release there’s a huge hole in my scene that’s missing something. So I penciled in some birds freehand, then went back over with a black pen over the pencil marks! Ask me why I did that!? Yep, I messed up so this is actually my second card, which turned out better!
