Hi crafty friends, I have a summer fun scene to share with you today! As you can see I’m using a bunch of die sets from Pretty Pink Posh!
I may have gone a little splatter crazy but I had fun!
Let’s start off by saying this is a 5X7 card, I had to get it all in the scene. Also I should mention that when I die-cut out the sand and sea I left the card stock longer and wider. So after it is all attached I just trimmed off the excess.
I started off by die-cutting out the sand using the Snowy Hills Border Dies. Die-cutting them out of white card stock and ink blending on with Distress Oxides- Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap inks. Then I splattered with the inks diluted down with water. Next, I added sparkle with Sparkle Silk from Spellbinders and white splatters from whatever you have in your stash. Set it off to the side to dry.
Now for the water doing the same thing but die-cut the water card stock using the Shoreline Border Dies. Inking up with Distress Oxides in blues. I splattered as well but I added some foam using the White Puff embossing powder from Hero Arts. I slide across the edges with the foam pad of VersaMark embossing ink, then sprinkled on the white puff. It shows up much better once it is heated up. Set it to the side as well.

Now I get down to some serious die-cutting! Using the Stitched Clouds dies, die cutting out with white card stock and blended on lightly blue dye ink to the bottom edges.
Then with the Summer Bucket Additions and the Summer Holder Additions Dies you get all your accessories for the beach.
I wanted a fun and cute Sun Shaker Die, so I die-cut it out a polka-dot pattern paper using one from Sunny Studios. And looking at it now I would have been cute to also use a polka dot pattern for the Umbrella which is the smaller one using the Springtime Holder Additions instead of the Umbrella Shaker Dies. UGH!
Using the Happy Summer Stamp Set, I stamped and white heat embossed the “Summer” and with the coordinating dies cut it out plus 3 more layers for adding dimension. In the set is the “Have a Fun” that I just stamped out and used the Sentiment Strips Dies to cut it out with.
Now to start to assemble it, I started off with a light blue card stock measuring the 5X7. Before I removed the backing of the foam behind the layers of the sand and ocean waves I laid them out. So that I could see where to attach the sun at using liquid glue.
Next I tucked and attached the ball, adding on the umbrella, bucket, shovel. With the umbrella you’ll have to add in some thin 3D foam or an extra layer of card stock behind to keep it flush with all the layers of sea and sand.
For my final step was adding white highlights with a gel pen.
