America’s 250th Birthday

Happy 4th of July! Today, I made a birthday card for a someone that’s birthday is actually on the 4th. I was asked recently if I had one that was more masculine because the only other one I have is from last month’s Spellbinders bonus die with the flowers and hat.

So I thought why not do one that will be a masculine birthday card as well as for the marking of America’s 250th birthday! Using the previously released Stitched Star Dies from Pretty Pink Posh!

I started off with the Sunburst Pierced plate and a Panel of red card stock and ran it through my Platinum 6. Then with the largest Wonky Stitched Dies I die-cut it out. With the second to largest Wonky Stitched Rectangle die I die-cut out a panel of white card stock.

With the red panel of the Sunburst Pierced I splattered on Gold, and set it to the side to dry.

Next, with the Stitched Star Dies, I chose four sizes of the dies. Die-cutting one for the blue with Doodlebug pattern paper. Then with the same red card stock I die-cut out the red stitched star. For the white star I used two of the dies, cutting out the solid star. Then laying a smaller die inside of the solid white die cut and cutting out the middle of the star. With one of the small stitched stars I die-cut it from gold to add into the center of the white with a slight twist.

Since I had all the gold splatter I wanted it to have gold stars and some party streamers. Using the Big Celebration Cupcake dies for both of the tiny stars and streamers.

With the Sentiment Strips:Birthday Stamp I stamped and Gold embossed it on black card stock. Die-cutting it out using the Flag banner die from the Sentiment Strips dies.

I start to assemble my card now by gluing the red panel to a standard A2 card base top fold. Then attached the white one on top of the red also using liquid glue. Adding foam squared to the back of the stars but not where they overlay each other.

Now that my bigger stars are in place I started to adhere the gold streamers and stars around the outer edge of the white panel.

Adding the sentiment to the bottom overlay and adding foam squares to the right of the sentiment banner.
